Vonage iPhone App

Vonage iPhone and iPod touch app review.

A great save when my AT&T is out of range.  Sound quality is good. Has history for redial.

No speaker phone available.  Call cuts out if someone calls in on Mobile line.

Free local calls. Cheap Intl.

Good idea to put some money in e-wallet account or else it will kick you off local calls to remind you your balance is zero.  You can put $5 min.  Might be dome codes available.

Worth trying this.  Needs some more features and a way to receive calls.

Important Terms (see Our Terms of Service for Full Details)

Service Charges
You must use Vonage Mobile's automatic payment refill process to add credit to your account.  You can add credit using a credit/debit card with a US billing address.  You will be charged Vonage Mobile's current international calling rates for the service. The service operates on a pre-pay basis and you will be prompted to pay Vonage in advance, as necessary, for service use. If you do not use your account for 12 consecutive months, your account balance will be forfeited. Taxes and certain other fees apply. A full list of Vonage Mobile's rates for standard services is published at www.vonagemobile.com/rates. These rates may change from time to time without prior notice. You can replenish your account up to $60 per day. When you add an amount to your account, that amount plus applicable taxes and fees will be charged to your credit/debit card. If you do not select a dollar amount to automatically add to your account, you agree that the default amount of $5 will be used. If you do not select an amount for the lower balance limit, the default amount of $2 will be used. If your account balance is $0.00, the international Vonage Mobile call service is not available. A minimum usage fee of $0.35 per month will be charged monthly if billable usage is less than 15 minutes. If you do not make calls for 3 consecutive months, your auto-refill will be suspended, however you will continue to be charged the minimum usage fee.

If your account balance is zero, the international call service is not available. Vonage Mobile is not liable for charges of certain third-party services. Carrier and access charges may apply, including SMS charges incurred for communications between you and us. Where Vonage Mobile provides you with free calls or other special offer services, no cash alternative will be given. Neither non-usage of the service nor misdialing while using the service entitles you to a credit or refund. 911 service is not available using this service and you must rely on your carrier's 911 service.

Cancellation and Refund Policy
You may cancel the service by either permanently removing your credit/debit card information and deleting the software from your device or by calling us at 1-800-405-4VON (1-800-405-4866). There will be no refunds of any unused balance in your account upon cancellation. Where Vonage Mobile provides you with free calls or other special offer services, no cash alternative will be given. Neither non-usage of the service nor misdialing while using the service entitles you to a credit or refund.

If this information is different than what you agreed to during your sign-up process or you have questions, you can call us within seven (7) days at 1-800-405-4VON (1-800-405-4866) and we will be happy to address your concerns. San Francisco Street Parking Spaces Will Be Monitored

The technology is sub-contracted with Streetline, Inc. It uses small recievers mounted on the light poles and sensors that are epoxied (glued) on the street at every spot. SFpark is a $23 million project, of which $18 million will come from federal sources. There is a cell phone app that allows you to find parking, or know if it's too crowded to try. Meter rates will adjust according to demand. Disabled cards might br monitored more closely too. They weren't designed for long term parking, but in a city with few Parking Garages, there isn't a choice, especially if you depend on your car and can't walk. Links to more info. http://www.sfexaminer.com/local/City_tries_to_get_a_sense_for_parking.html http://www.sfmta.com/cms/psfpark/sfparkindx.htm Pictures are from Feb 12 install in Mission district test zone.

SFMTA San Francisco to Install Parking Spot Sensors

SFTMA will install parking spot sensors throughout the City in 2010.

This technology has been available for years and has been used in many parking garages to automatically show Parkers what floors are full.

"SF is installing sensors to start collecting data on parking occupancy to improve parking management."

Street parking will be closed in sections and as they finish installing the sensors, spaces will open up one by one.

New HP! Almost no plastic in packaging.

HP photosmart Premium with touch web. Model AiO-C308n Printer. More about the printer in next post, but great to see the free shopping bag instead of tons of plastic when unboxing. Printer came in a mesh bag and accessories came in a zipper pouch. We almost thought it was an open box unit, but saw the HP logo on the bags. Bags instead of trash is a great bonus for buying HP. It was a little easier to get out of the box too, but still had to straddle the outside of the box and pull on the handles. More info on green printers and packaging. Www.hp.com/ecosolutions
