Using Weebly To Design Your Website

Getting Started Is Easy
Once you have a clear plan of what you want your site to look like, access the Weebly Drag and Drop Site Builder under the "Website" section of your control panel. Weebly provides an easy way to create a dynamic website, and no prior knowledge of HTML is required. To help you get started, we've put together a quick four-step guide: 1. Your First Step Is Choosing a TemplateTip: As you choose your template and customize it for your website, remember to stick with no more than three to five colors.
- Select the "Design" tab at the top left corner of the Weebly homepage
- Click "All Themes" in the left column to browse through dozens of professionally created templates
- Hover your mouse over each thumbnail and click "Preview" to see what it looks like full size
- Finalize your template selection by clicking "Use Theme" or choose "Cancel" to continue browsing
2. Adding Content: The Basis for Your SiteTip: To maintain your site's professionalism, use only high quality images. If you don't have your own professional photos, we recommend buying inexpensive images from istockphoto.com.
- Select the "Elements" tab at the top left corner of the Weebly homepage
- Add a title, picture, text, etc., simply by dragging the appropriate box to the template
3. Create That "Wow" Factor with MultimediaTip: Use multimedia tools to relate to your audience more effectively. Consider who you'd like to visit your site and what you want that person to do when they're there. For example, if you sell unique merchandise, create a Flash video, specific to your targeted customer, that will help him/her better understand how your product works.
- Select the "Elements" tab at the top left corner of the Weebly homepage
- Click "Multimedia" from the column on the left
- Add elements that make your site more interactive and increase the value for your visitors
4. When You're Happy with Your Site, Publish It!Tip: Remember — publishing is never final; in fact, to keep traffic flowing and to get recognized by search engines, you should update your content frequently. Building your site with Weebly is easy. To see it in action, we recommend watching this video our team put together.
- To publish your site, simply click the orange "Publish" button at the top right corner of the Weebly interface — it's that easy! Your site will be available for the world to see.

You can use your Space(s) exactly as you have in the past. We’ll give you ample notice before any changes or disruptions to the service and we’ll provide specific instructions for exporting your content to another service.

Yes, you can continue to post via email the Web or our iPhone or Android apps. We’ll give you ample notice before any changes or disruptions to the service.
How can I backup or export the content of my Space(s)?
We’ll share instructions on how you can backup the content of your Space soon.
What happens to my content if I don’t do anything to my Posterous account?
We’ll give you ample notice before any changes to the service and we’ll share clear instructions about how to move your content to other services. In the meantime, your Spaces will remain up and running without disruption.
I bought a custom domain from Posterous – what happens to it?
Our domain partner, eNom, will take over domain management. Over the next several days, you will receive an email with instructions for accessing your new domain account.
I am redirecting my domain/subdomain to Posterous – what do I need to do?
Your domain or subdomain will continue to point to your Posterous Space. You do not need to change anything.
Can I export my Space’s to Wordpress, Tumblr, Blogger, or another service?

We’re excited to introduce the AWS Storage Gateway, a service that provides a new option to securely upload data to the AWS cloud for scalable, reliable, cost-effective storage.
The AWS Storage Gateway connects an on-premises software appliance with cloud-based storage for seamless integration between on-premises IT environments and AWS storage. The service supports a standard iSCSI interface, enabling you to take advantage of cloud based storage without re-architecting existing applications. The AWS Storage Gateway provides low-latency performance by maintaining data in your on-premises storage hardware while asynchronously uploading data over SSL to AWS, where it is encrypted and securely stored in the Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3).
The AWS Storage Gateway enables you to securely upload your data to the AWS cloud for cost-effective backup, storing point-in-time snapshots of your on-premises application data in Amazon S3 for future recovery. Your data in Amazon S3 is stored as Amazon EBS snapshots, which you can restore on-premises using the AWS Management Console.
The AWS Storage Gateway also makes it easy to leverage the on-demand capacity of Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2) for additional capacity during peak periods, as a more cost-effective way to run normal enterprise workloads, or for disaster recovery purposes. You can create Amazon EBS volumes from the snapshots you’ve taken using the AWS Storage Gateway, and attach these volumes to your Amazon EC2 compute instances. Once attached, your Amazon EC2 instances will have access to this data to do any processing or computation.
Pricing for the AWS Storage Gateway is $125/month per activated gateway and comes with a 60 day free trial. Snapshot storage pricing starts at only $0.14 per gigabyte per month.
